What do people think of American accents?

It's weird to think about ourselves having an accent but you can definitely tell when someone isn't from your country. I was just wondering what other people think of American accents? Are they attractive, annoying, strange, hard to understand... ?

There are alot of American accents out there.

I am from the coal region of America, i've traveled most of Europe and find that people adore the accent from my area. The southern accent i personally find annoying though.

I'm American, but compare to British English the American English sounds unattractive and kind of sloppy in my opinion.

It really doesn't make a lot of difference what the accent is if the language is not spoken properly.

I like the South Jersey/Philly accent. The Southern accents can be okay if it isn't too hillbilly. I don't like the nasal New York cry-baby accent, makes my spin wretch. Cali gets on my nerves too. I don't percieve much of a mid west accent at all. I really like the Dakota's accents too. Fargo, who knew.
