  1. Hi

I think Amway is a great company. I tried it for about six months many years ago. I spent a lot and never made anything. The problem with selling and promoting Amway products and the opportunity is, I found, that it has a negative image in so many people's minds that it is really difficult to get people to even look into it. I think it also has some problems with it's compensation plan.

Watch the video at this site and see a different compensation plan, it will give you a good insight of what is available.

    Good luck to you.

  2. I have known several people who tried it.  I don't know any who stuck with it once they used up their friends.

It is almost as effective for getting rid of people as telling them you sell life insurance.

  3. Amway is one of many "MLM's" (a/k/a multi-level marketing companies).  They are not pyramid schemes, but are actually companies that market products -- many of them quite good.

While Amway has GREAT products, it is very difficult for anyone that is not in the upper tiers to make money.  Why?

    1.  You have to constantly be selling products to friends, family, neighbors and strangers.  Once you run out of friends and family, it gets more difficult.

    2.  You have to be constantly recruiting people under you to sell, sell, sell in order to make the dollars they tell you about.  You have to have a HUGE downline to make any decent money.

    3.  You will recruit people who will give up and you'll have to replace them.

If you LOVE selling and are great at talking and making presentations and explaining the plan, it's possible to make money.  How much?  Depends on their pay plan, levels, etc.

Also, many companies (and I believe Amway's one) makes you place your orders through someone higher up.  You'll have to make constant trips to pick up stuff from your "direct report" and then make additional trips to deliver the goods.  Consider the price of gas into all of this.

  4. I believe it is a tiered marketing system. Those who've been there the longest will make the most money. I never wanted to stick around that long.

    Good luck
