....into a more violent image of the world?

In other words, the people that listen to violent music(not the "I'll put a cap in yo ***" type, but the "I remove your spleen and your liver. There is much blood" type. You know, the ones who worship Saw movies, and are into violence and gore.

  1. I remember watching Hostel and wondering what the h**l was going on inside the head of the guy who wrote it.

Horror movies and songs however are something that every teenager goes through, it's a teenage thing.  It's the people who don't grow out of it that you have to worry about.

18 rated video games are a whole different issue, then the gamer is participating and perpetuating the image of a violent society.  I genuinely worry about those.

  2. Those types always struck me as either bored and frustrated with bland suburban life, or acting out from some kind of abuse.  I knew a lot of people like that when I was younger who were physically abused, and that was their way of acting out their anger.  I'm not saying all of those types have suffered abuse though.

  3. ignorant to what is behind all that inhumanity

  4. It's a bit weird, but then again - what about the people who make the Saw movies and the gore lyrics in the first place.  They've got to be a bit freaky to think of it all.  If they didn't do it, the gore fans would have nothing to watch or listen to!

(although if the films and music weren't around to satisfy their cravings, I wonder if they'd all be serial killers LOL)

When I was younger I used to watch stuff like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Nightmare on Elm St and the Hitcher and all that, but I outgrew it.  I think it's a kind of curiosity.  When you get older, the realisation that there really are people in the world who would do this stuff puts you off watching it........or at least it did with me.

I watched the first Saw movie but couldn't be bothered with the others (just the same old, same old).

However, I still read Horror novels and watch some horror films, so they're probably not much better.

If you're not into this stuff, don't ever read Richard Layman - that guy was well messed up.  (but of course if you ARE into it, then make sure you DO read Richard Layman.....you'll love him LOL!)
