What do people wear at college?

Question

I am going to go to college in the UK (University of Brighton) to study photography, and I was just wondering how most people dress? Is it quite casual with jeans and a t-shirt? Or do people like to get dressed up and look nice?

I usually dress my look up a bit with heels, stockings, a nice hair style, and a fair amount of make-up.

What are some necessities? I know I will need a winter coat and shoes that can handle the snow, but what else?

Thats it really! Dress for the weather (I go to Univ of Washington) and we wear cute rainboots when its raining, or Uggs when its dry and chilly out, and flip flops when its nice. You can either have a backpack or a side shoulder tote to carry your books in and whatnot. Its college though, as you will find out later in the year, rolling out of bed without showering wont be so out of the ordinary :)

Just like you normally dress if you wanted to be comfortable. You don't need a suit and tie. It's school not a job interview. That doesn't mean you should go in your pajama's. Clean and comfortable. Good Luck. Tip: sit in the front of the class.

try to dress formal.. u gotta feel comfortable... leave the make-up for the weekend... or maybe u can use just lil bit not that exaggeratee...

Most people dress very casually.  Save the dress and makeup for the weekend.

A nice cup of coffee would be nice. I like to take my own coffee (in a mug) to class, once I took a flask because it was cold ^_^  

Dress how ever you feel like it. The important thing is to feel comfortable and be able to focus on your school work.

well all  the freshman that start college wear like mini skirts and heels, that's how you can tell who is a freshman or not, but everyone else just wear jeans a sweat jacket and rainbow sandals! lol
