  1. I have a classmate in second year engineering who was accepted in an airline flight school, so he quit college.

  2. There is a whole range of paths to getting there.

One could simple finish high school, get trained, get licensed, and have the connections to be hired at a small airline right after getting the commercial license.

Or, one could go to unveristy, get a degree, then maybe even go to university again to get a degree in aviation, during which time he or she would also do training and get licensed, then go on to become a flight instructor.  Maybe do that a few years, then work for a small regional airline loading luggage onto planes and filling up planes with fuel.  Do that a few years, then become a pilot at the same place.  Do that a few years, then work for a larger outfit.

God only knows.  There are as many paths as there are pilots.  And not everyone's going to the same place.  Some commercial pilots fly only cargo, some are bush pilots, some might work solely for one rich person, some might crop dust, some might work for a major airline, doing international flights.

  3. no you do not have to go but all major airlines prefer a college degree after that you go to flight school and train to fly an airplane then you become a F/O copilot I suggest you join the air force
