What do portfolio binders look like?

I'm making my first portfolio and I'm not sure what to put the papers in. I'd like to have something with a cover. Also, what about paper. Should I just put regular paper in laminate pockets or use thicker paper? I just need an idea of what the best way to do this is.

a portfolio is a 3 ring binder..If u go to a big box store office supply (staples) they will gladly help you and assist in showing you various ways to do what you are trying to accomplish

If your applying for a creative position like graphic design, photography etc. Do not use a 3 ring binder. You will be shown the door rather quickly.
