I'm making my first portfolio and I'm not sure what to put the papers in. I'd like to have something with a cover. Also, what about paper. Should I just put regular paper in laminate pockets or use thicker paper? I just need an idea of what the best way to do this is.

  1. a portfolio is a 3 ring binder..If u go to a big box store office supply (staples) they will gladly help you and assist in showing you various ways to do what you are trying to accomplish

  2. If your applying for a creative position like graphic design, photography etc. Do not use a 3 ring binder. You will be shown the door rather quickly. Mount your pieces to a heavy art board and put them into a nice clean box. The size is up you. Be creative. Check out http://www.portfolios-and-art-cases.com/ for some great cases.
