Question:

What do reoccuring dreams about demons and poltergeists mean?

All of my life I have had many, many nightmares about demons and evil spirits. The first one began at two (yes, I can still remember it) and it has carried on ever since.

In these dreams, sometimes I am trying to repel or destroy the demon or I am being oppressed by it. Most of the time, it is both. Never in these dreams, however, do I die, and they always end either with good triumphing over evil or as a cliffhanger.

So please, if anyone knows anything about the dream interpretation of nightmares about demons and poltergeists let me know what you think. If you need any examples of my dreams, just tell me and I will add it in the details.

Thank you so very much :)

  1. Apparently you are engaged in spiritual warfare. As such you need to pray before going to bed asking Jesus Christ to protect you from all harm and danger. Then command every single evil spirit or demon to leave you and your house in the name of Jesus Christ. By commanding them I mean telling them forcefully as if you could see them (like you would a human being) to leave you and your house alone, using the name of Jesus Christ. I would also suggest that before you go to bed ask God to protect you with his angels from all demons and ask him to cleanse and protect you and your dreams while you are sleeping so that demons cannot enter your dreams.

Also I highly suggest that you pray about your dream asking God to explain why you are having those dreams. I think it is highly possible that you have a call of God on your life and that is why you are dreaming of battling with demons. Continue to pray and keep in the bible.

  2. first of all, remember this; demons lie.

and since you are a Christian, you can command them to go in the name of Jesus, and ask for God's protection during your sleep.

However, I would take heart if I were you, because the evil never

triumphs.  You have the power given to you by God to combat this.

Pray protection over your house and your bedroom.  psalm 91 is a

    good one.

    God bless.

  3. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." - Eph. 6:12

6:10-18 Spiritual strength and courage are needed for our spiritual warfare and suffering. Those who would prove themselves to have true grace, must aim at all grace; and put on the whole armour of God, which he prepares and bestows. The Christian armour is made to be worn; and there is no putting off our armour till we have done our warfare, and finished our course. The combat is not against human enemies, nor against our own corrupt nature only; we have to do with an enemy who has a thousand ways of beguiling unstable souls. The devils assault us in the things that belong to our souls, and labour to deface the heavenly image in our hearts. We must resolve by God's grace, not to yield to Satan. Resist him, and he will flee. If we give way, he will get ground. If we distrust either our cause, or our Leader, or our armour, we give him advantage. The different parts of the armour of heavy-armed soldiers, who had to sustain the fiercest assaults of the enemy, are here described. There is none for the back; nothing to defend those who turn back in the Christian warfare. Truth, or sincerity, is the girdle. This girds on all the other pieces of our armour, and is first mentioned. There can be no religion without sincerity. The righteousness of Christ, imputed to us, is a breastplate against the arrows of Divine wrath. The righteousness of Christ implanted in us, fortifies the heart against the attacks of Satan. Resolution must be as greaves, or armour to our legs; and to stand their ground or to march forward in rugged paths, the feet must be shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Motives to obedience, amidst trials, must be drawn from a clear knowledge of the gospel. Faith is all in all in an hour of temptation. Faith, as relying on unseen objects, receiving Christ and the benefits of redemption, and so deriving grace from him, is like a shield, a defence every way. The devil is the wicked one. Violent temptations, by which the soul is set on fire of h**l, are darts Satan shoots at us. Also, hard thoughts of God, and as to ourselves. Faith applying the word of God and the grace of Christ, quenches the darts of temptation. Salvation must be our helmet. A good hope of salvation, a Scriptural expectation of victory, will purify the soul, and keep it from being defiled by Satan. To the Christian armed for defense in battle, the apostle recommends only one weapon of attack; but it is enough, the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. It subdues and mortifies evil desires and blasphemous thoughts as they rise within; and answers unbelief and error as they assault from without. A single text, well understood, and rightly applied, at once destroys a temptation or an objection, and subdues the most formidable adversary. Prayer must fasten all the other parts of our Christian armour. There are other duties of religion, and of our stations in the world, but we must keep up times of prayer. Though set and solemn prayer may not be seasonable when other duties are to be done, yet short pious prayers darted out, always are so. We must use holy thoughts in our ordinary course. A vain heart will be vain in prayer. We must pray with all kinds of prayer, public, private, and secret; social and solitary; solemn and sudden: with all the parts of prayer; confession of sin, petition for mercy, and thanksgiving for favours received. And we must do it by the grace of God the Holy Spirit, in dependence on, and according to, his teaching. We must preserve in particular requests, notwithstanding discouragements. We must pray, not for ourselves only, but for all saints. Our enemies are mighty, and we are without strength, but our Redeemer is almighty, and in the power of his mighty we may overcome. Wherefore we must stir up ourselves. Have not we, when God has called, often neglected to answer? Let us think upon these things, and continue our prayers with patience.

  4. To see demons in your dream, represents ignorance, negativity, distress or your shadow self.  It also forewarns of overindulgence and letting lust give way to your better judgment.  As a result, your physical and mental health may suffer.

To see or hear a poltergeist in your dream, signifies a lack of control in your life. You may be experiencing some disruptions that are hindering your goals.

To dream that someone or something is evil, denotes a repressed and/or forbidden aspect of yourself. This part of yourself may be seeking recognition and acknowledgment.  Alternatively,  evil may also be a reflection of your strong, negative emotions like hate, anger, etc.

To see or talk to spirits in your dream, signifies your fears about death. The spirits may be trying to guide you through some issues or problems. Pay particular attention to the spirits as they may be an answer to a waking problem.

To dream that you participate in a fight, indicates inner turmoil. Some aspect of yourself is in conflict with another aspect of yourself. Perhaps an unresolved or unacknowledged part is fighting for its right to be heard.  It may also parallel a fight or struggle that you are going through in your waking life.

Most dreams contain messages that serve to teach us something about ourselves. Unfortunately many a times we forget what we dream about as we go about our daily routine. With recurring dreams, the message may be so important and/or powerful that it just will not go away. The frequent repetition of such dreams forces you to pay attention and confront the dream.   The dream is trying desperately to tell you something.  Such dreams are often nightmarish or frightening in their content, which also helps you to take notice and pay attention to them.

Recurring dreams are quite common and are often triggered by a certain life situation or a problem that keeps coming back again and again. These dreams may recur daily, once a week, or once a month, but whatever the frequency, there is little variation in the dream content itself. It usually points to a personal weakness, fear, or your inability to cope with something in your life - past or present.

The repetitive patterns in your dream can reveal some of the most valuable information on yourself. It may point to a conflict, situation or matter in your waking life that remains unresolved or unsettled.  Or some urgent underlying message in your unconscious is demanding to be understood.

Nightmares are a subcategory of dreams. The distinction of a nightmare is its frightening and/or emotional content. You tend to wake up in fear in the midst of a nightmare. Because of its frightening nature, you tend to remember your nightmares and the vivid details. They have a bigger impact upon your waking mind and its images stay with you throughout the day. One reason for nightmares may be a way of our unconscious to get our attention about a situation or problem that you have been avoiding. It is time to take notice and confront a problem or situation. Nightmares serve an important purpose in showing you what is troubling you from within you deeper levels. Discussing, analyzing, and understanding your nightmares can lead to a solution for some problem, internal conflict or personal difficulty. In general, stress, trauma, fears, insecurities, feelings of inadequacy, health problems, marital issues, etc may all be reasons for having nightmares.

  5. You need to be saved. By Jesus. Theres a Demon in you And your fighting to get free. Save your life. Accept the power of the lord. Take control and kill the demon.

  6. You have an inner conflict going on, may be there is a situation in your life you don’t know how to deal with and your subconscious is trying to figure out what course you should take.  I have had similar dreams over the years, normally during stressful times.  I believe in god but I don't necessarily think this is an actual attack on you when you sleep.  It doesn’t really work like that.  I wouldn’t rule it out completely however there is so much about our minds we don’t understand.  If you are a spiritual person then inner conflicts can be played out with demonic imagery, lets face it we know our own worst nightmares.  Personally I talk to loved ones that have passed away when I sleep but it’s more likely that I am talking to a part of myself represented by their image, but you do sometimes wonder.

Next time you have one of these dreams when you wake up write down as much as you can remember, then try to relate it to your waking life, your fears anything playing on your mind etc.  You will find things will become clearer and you may well be able to solve a problem or two.  The imagery is very important, where you are in the dream, are you alone, do you know you are dreaming?
