  1. they make soup and beef tips from them... especially cafeterias... they have no trash cans...

  2. More than likely it will be thrown out. However, if it was untouched and the servers were hungry, it will be placed in the back and employees will eat it.

  3. throw them out

  4. They cook it a little longer if someone else orders the same thing only well done. If cooked just right for the next order, they reheat it and serve it to this person. Discusting, but they don't want to lose money over incorrectly cooked food. If you order a steak, and it comes to you looking a little dry like it was reheated, reject it and ask for a fresh one. You are paying for it and it should be cooked to your specifications and fresh. Don't settle for anything less. Also if you order a medium well steak and it comes to you rare, don't accept it. I did this once, but had to take it home and microwave it so I could eat it. This is wrong!!

  5. usually they just throw them out, but if the waiter knows nobody touched it or anything than they might eat it.

  6. i used to be a hostess at a restaurant. if we had something like that, it would get put on the table in the back room where the employee ate. first come first serve. if something was left in the window too long beyond its time to go out as "fresh" it was considered "dead". the employees were like starved slaves grabbing at any fee food they could get, especially if it was a high ticket item like a steak

  7. Unfortunately, its thrown in the garbage because of health issues. I would not want to eat a steak that was sent back and cooked the way I wanted it. Meat sitting around, even under a heat lamp will still harbor bacteria.

It is a sad waste, but necessary.

  8. The ones that people don't finish and leave on their plates??

The only thing they can do chuck it out. You can't re-cook it, you can't serve it to someone else due to hygiene issues so they chuck them out. A Waste sometimes but necessary.

  9. Well, in some places, " re-cycling " takes on a whole new meaning.!
