What do roaches eat?

my friend just caught a roach and he is wondering what they eat... gross...

Most organic.  They eat breads and cereals, will eat glue from anything held together, flour, cake mixes.  I am trying to name all the packages of stuff that I have found cockroaches in.  I would call them the omnivores of the insect world.

Roaches eat anything they can find. Whether its crumbs, meat scraps, lettuce, anything.

I honestly don't know, but...maybe they eat crumbs from leftover food.
