In comparison to Football, Baseball, and Basketball players they really do not get paid!

They must play rugby more for the fun of the game than for money!

In the UK the pricing structure is far stricter than that in Football. A new player with a contract with a Premiership Club can expect to get around £20,000- £30,000 year. The more expereinced players can expect to get contracts up from around £50,000 - £70,000 p.a. this talk of £300,000 a year is rubbish! However players can earn money through rugby via sponsorhsip deals (e.g. Johnny Wilkinson - Adidas, Stuart Abbot - Abbot Ale)

Also if a player is slected for the national team they get paid for being in the squad and extra for winning and number of mathes played (caps)
