What do sailors use to polish thier brass or copper pipes on ships?

They use good ol' Brasso .... you can also use a solution of vinager and water as well!!!

I was told by a friend on mine who had spent time in the navy that junior ratings were often used for this task.

I also recall thanks to said friend my then 7 year old daughter (during an open day on a visiting U.S warship) asking a young sailor  "Have you found the golden rivet yet?"

When I was sailing on ships we used 'Brasso' on the brass in the wheel house.  I do not recall polishing any brass on the WX decks.

Don't forget "Never Dull" that cotton like stuff loaded with polish.
