What do slaughterhouses do with ground up baby chickens?

In this animal rights video I saw, they show these baby chicks going down this chute into a grinder, it was really messed up. Does anyone know what the companies do with what is left? Is it a paste that they sell to fertilizer companies or something?

  1. Nothing. Those go to the animal rendering plants.

    There's a section called "Disheartening Specifics" that shows some of the products that rendered animals parts are used in.

  3. It goes into dog and cat food for one.

  4. They actually feed the ground up chicks to other factory farmed animals, including hens. True story.

  7. I don't know, but at the local dairy farm, all of the baby bulls (males) are made into cat food.  Nice huh?  All of the cows (females) get to be milked and milked and milked until they likely reach the same or similar fate.
