  1. First it depends why they are visiting you. If they are there to confirm your address, then just a home visit to visibly see you there and check for codes violations. If they are there for child safety reasons it can range from checking the status of the child's physical and general mental health. Needs are the basics of food adequacy, shelter, utilities, safety issues. They can even check through your drawers and stuff if they are Child Protection in the presents of a uniformed police officer. Remember you have  the right to decline entry to your residence and the right to an attorney if being investigated.

Sorry Bunny, but come on. You are talking about everything that's ever been done by every worker on the planet. No one person will go to such lengths unless they are a forensic crime investigator. Come back to earth.

  2. They do this:

    1)  They look at the premises.  The yard, the porch, etc.. Are there dangerous and rusty things, trash?

    2)  They open the door, and take a big whiff.

    3)  They look for clutter, focusing on any plumbing- sink, toilet- smell and filth.

    4)  Amount and cleanliness of bedroom and beds.

    5)  They may look in the fridge.  They have to put a check mark on food even if there's just one can of something.

  3. cleanliness of house - including floors, surfaces, clothes washing, pets mess, bedrooms, kitchen expecially if young children, rugbbish put outside, stairs clear of rubbish

safety around home - inc safety gates, kettles and irons stored safely, repairs around house

Toy - provided, clean, suitable for age, in good repair

children - parental interaction with children, approriate tv programmes if tv on, homework being done if necessary, children clean, children happy, children's bedroom tidy and clean sheets and clean clothes,

Kitchen - will check cupboards to make sure that there is food to be eaten and that it is in date and suitable for children

state of house - repairs done, windows not brokedn, garden looked after, no big furniture in garden eg settee

visitors - if visitors then who are they, appropriate people to be around children, relations with neighbours

they look at lots of issues and home visit is v important in assessing family - very much looking at parental attitude to social workers visit - if family rude or antogonsitc it will count against family.  very important that family are at home for visit or will be seen as black mark against assessment and that family are not working with social care

  4. Clean house & adequate bedrooms & food supply & a way

to cook the food= Stove & fridge.
