What do sports arenas do with the souvenir cups people leave behind?

My son and I did a campout on the field at a AAA baseball team's arena and I was surprised at how many of the plastic souvenir cups were left over. Do they just throw them away? I can't imagine they clean them out and reuse them, do they?

From what I have heard they ship them to Africa. That is what they do with the shirts and penants when a team loses also.
