What do spray on house plants for bugs before you bring them in for winter?

  1. you can try dish soap, but I would recommend you get a bottle of specialized stuff from home depot or a similar place that sells plants..


  2. you should just change the potting mix,(carefully getting older/outdoors thru summer soil off the roots & all-incase any 'critters ' are hiding  )and all will be fine. I know that helps me . :)  Im in zone 5.

  3. Depends on the bugs.  A few drops of a natural soap in a spray bottle can dry out most eggs if you spray the undersides of leaves.  They have much stronger stuff you can use but it smells bad and you may not want around if you have pets.

  4. Use Insecticidal soap.  Homemade soap can actually harm your plants and might not be effective at all.  This is according to "livingwithbugs.com"
