  1. how good it was last week...where u out here and stupid ppl groms making it dangerous for us

  2. Don't be an idiot and say "gnarly and radical and tubular" only idiots that are high do that, no offense if you do do it.  What you need to do is talk about the sets that were just coming in and ask if they saw the forecast or some strange person walking on the beach or some really good surfer or some really hot girl at the beach or some guy or some new surfer or some really old guy surfing or some really old lady surfing or some idiot whose using the words gnarly and stuff... I can go on for hours but that's about all I talk about when I'm there, just don't be an idiot and you'll get a response.

  3. when im in a line up we dont really talk that much because the waves practically talk for themselves but u pretty much just talk about a great surfing story or the waves that are there today

  4. You don't want to look like a wierdo, just start a conversation about the conditions, the spot your board ect.

  5. this one wave this one time..............................dude

  6. I don't really talk at all... I just float out there and relax, put my head on my board, think about stuff... it's more thinking time than anything else for me.

but lots of times we talk about waves, the next set, or just goof off and jump up on our boards, talk about how hungry we are, or our next surf session... just casual stuff- anyone can pretty much join in- but if the people seem tense, like a fight's gonna break out, then I'd just stay away.

  7. I was surfing in france once and was the only english person.

    That was really awkward!

  8. Anything.

  9. It all depends. If you are surfing with pals, you talk about the last wave. you talk about your board, you talk about all kinds of stuff, like what you're are going to do that night. If you are surfing with friendly strangers, you might say, "Hi." you might comment on the conditions. You might talk about each other's boards. Otherwise, you just surf. I like to say hello to folks, to feel out their demeanor. If they look overly aggressive or think They are hot s&%t, I paddle down beach, to stay out of their way, they are miserable and best left alone. I'd rather surf with happy folks.
