  1. Soccer.

  2. They dress up in everything American they can get their hands on. Smoke Marlboro's, listen to American music. Watch American movies and TV shows. But swear they hate Americans and dont want to be like them.

I was there for two years

  3. They are playing soccer, tennis and another sports. Having Teen Clubs, where they are coming together, going to movies, discos, listen all kind a music, reading, hiking, biking, skiing, traveling. They do driver license with 18, alcohol and cigarettes with 16.

  4. pretty much the same as here

  5. Soccer and beer.

  6. i live in germany im a army brat it depends on if ur actually german or american in germany

  7. drink alcohol and party

  8. i have tons of german friends..who were born and raised in germany, and are here for a few years. they're mostly just like us..love music, soccer, sports, and movies.

  9. What age teen?

Their drinking laws and driving laws are MUCH different then in the USA. Theirs actually makes more sense. They educate you on how to drink first and handle it then give you intense lessons on driving and you have to be 18.

They have a lot more to do as teens from age 14+ than most American girls & boys do. Imagine in the USA going to a Night Club and there being 17 and 16 year olds there!! Drinking alcohol? In Germany it is ok and they are brought up to have respect. In the US no way 21+ or you do not get in with out connections.

SO there are some things that are different, but the things already mentioned are the same like music, sports etc.

  10. You must get a completely false impression when people around here are talking about drinking and such. No, our teens are actually quite... normal. You won't notice any difference to the US. I know some teens, and, well, boys play soccer (our national sport) or video games, girls spend up their money on sending sms on their mobile to their 13-year-old "boy friends" and reading teen magazines. And besides of that, they make the same noise in school busses and in front of schools like teens in all countries do. You wouldn't be able to tell the language they're speaking. And they'll be as equally angry if their parents forbid them to watch MTV for a week and instead learn their maths as any teenage in any country would be.

The point about driving licenses and drinking alcohol Wolf mentiones (like always, a good point): There is ONE legal age in Germany for BOTH driving and drinking, and that's 18. Which is dangerous. They lowered the legal age for driving in some areas now to 17. I'd rather be in favor of raising the drinking age to 21, like in the US. But the German law doesn't allow serious punishment when you're below 21. A youngster found drunk on a street will be returned by the police to his parents, and the parents get the "taxi bill". (No, the bill isn't considerably higher than a regular taxi.)

  11. @liebekatz: I don't know if you speak proper German, but those 2 a******s who beat up the old man in the subway were NOT German, one was Turkish and one was Greek (immigrants)!

  12. Koma-saufen (drinking until you are unconscious), vandalism, beating up old men in the subway, spitting on the sidewalk, hanging around at the mall. . .
