  1. Just Supposed To Scare You Some Directors Think ITs Kool Too Just Cut In The Movie With A  Random Scene

That Was The Only Bad Part Of The Movie

  2. I believe the woman's name was Sarah... Ok, so as you know, Sarah had lost her daughter in a car accident, and I think she was turning a certain age pretty soon (hence the birthday cake). Anyways, she never got over that, and she would still vision her every now and then, hallucinate so to say. If you remember how she reacted when she found out that her daughter died in the hospital, she was absolutely horrified and heart broken. She had been on some medication, we don't know what kind, I'm guessing an anti-depressant. It was to ease the pain from her heart after losing the most precious thing she loved the most in her life. After going into the cave and knowing that there were these evolved cave men like creatures trying to kill everyone and not being able to find a way out, she started hallucinating even more, basically because she was going mad. The director envisages the film as Sarah's descent into 'absolute insanity and lunacy'. He also stated that Sarah did in fact escape, but her mind was left back in the cave, all she wanted to do was be with her little girl and celebrate her birthday more than anything. Most likely she'd end up in a mental institution because of everything she had been through, the loss of her family and friends, etc.
