What do the different ringed fingers mean?

Not all this legend, spiritual stuff...like, for example, a silver ring on your left thumb means you're a L*****n. I don't want to make any false appearances here!

In today's society I don't think people really go by that anymore so I wouldn't worry about it:)

It's a lot of hooey.  I know people who wear a silver ring on their left thumb.  They are not lesbians.  In fact a couple of them are dudes.  There is something about wearing a ring on your right index finger as a sign of power or authority or something, but I think that's a pile of c**p too.  Traditionally, the wedding ring finger is the 4th finger of the left hand; but is some places it's the 4th finger of the right hand, and in other places the marriage ring can be worn on any finger.  Who makes up these rules and why are they even necessary?

To reply to Hedge Witch above - Welcome to the world of ring freaks.  I have enough rings to encrust every finger and a couple of toes.  Hm .... does this make me g*y or something .... LOL.;o)
