HI

I got a speaker driver( the bare speaker inside the box) and found a few numbers written on the back.

i.e 15w/8 ohm

Does 15w represent the RMS power or Peak power of the speaker?

how can I compare that power rating with the RMS power rating.

  1. 15W is 15 watts. That number is most likely the MAX wattage you will get our of the speakers, and 15W is not very loud. You could probably get a pair of 80W speakers from circuit city for around $50. the RMS power isn't usually listed on the speaker, but if your speaker is really old and stock, that might be the RMS watts. Compared to other speakers, it would be worth the money to get new speakers, because they have a LOT more power than older stock speakers.
