What do the potions do?

On the J.K rowling offical website, under the "?" link there is a shelf next to the door and it has a plant and a red potion and green. When you lift either potions over the plant they drip. What does that exactly do?

there are money rubs that are green or green is used for healing

red is love or blood take you pick you use plants for making oil's for the body so depends what there pirpose is for

In some traditions example Wicca, the color red and green are the colors for the God and Goddess.  The plant could represent the Earth.  To be honest I have not seen the website so I could not tell you what she is referring too, this is just my guess. Other colors that represent the God/dess are Silver and Gold.  I could make many guesses as to the meaning of the color of these potions, Green-abundance, prosperity whereas Red-love, passion just to name a few.
