2G Network: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900

35 Netowrk: HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100

What kind of difference do these networks make when choosing a phone?

  1. GSM runs on 4 bands of network, basically here in the U.S. they use 2 frequencies, which (I believe) are 850 & 1800. 900 & 1900 are international frequencies. Having all bands basically means that your phone is compatible with all GSM networks. Here in the U.S. At&t & T-mobile use GSM. GSM, is a type of wireless network.

    HSDPA is strictly data, whick allows you to have broadband compatible speeds, nothing to do with voice.
