What do they call potato chips in London?

I live in U.S and was wondering, because I'm planning to move to London. If they call chips( fries) than what do they call potato chips/ any chips?

fries are chips,potatoe chips are crisps the best regular ones are walkers brand,cheese and onion are my favourite and come in 37g bags not huge ones like you lot get ,bigger bags of crisps can be bought like the kettle chip range, handcooked in oil and in great flavours that you can suggest to the manufacters,and they sometimes bring them out,my fav was mexican lime with chilli. also chippys are not all run by greeks,the british chippy is the best and better up north in places like manchesteror in particular bury where i'm from ,as you can see i am a fan, what do you think?

Confusing isn't it. I had the same problem with food in Canada.  In UK, chips are full of potato, potato chips are crisps and sold in over priced bags. French fries (chips) are the thin oil soaked things that many places try to call chips.   In Canada a roll when it is cut and cheese put inside it becomes a sandwich, in UK it is a cheese roll.

french fries are called chips over here in the uk sold in little shops usually run by greek people have them covered in salt and vinegar. fantastic!!

chips as you call them over there are crisps over her,  and go well with a cheese and onion cob an a pint of lager. be sure to give them a go a great british tradition.
