  1. you get to visit the preschool, and see how your child's day will be like should he /she join that preschool

it is also an important day for you to assess the preschool

  2. Personally When I do an open house I like to show parents what their children have done (art, writing, books, etc). It's also a time for parents to ask questions get to know the teacher and program better. I also like the children to guide parents around the classroom and show/ tell them about each different area and what they like to do.

  3. they tell you, what your child will be doing in the preschool, giving you basicly an idea of what your child will be taught, so its like to see if the preschool will help your child, or be able to help choose if you want you kids to be there.

  4. There may be variations, but all the ones I have been to have been a time for you to come in, see the classroom, talk to the teachers, ask questions, and have their system and methods explained in more detail.

  5. Aside from the other wonderful answers you've been given, it's also a time for you to get to know the other parents and children a bit so when your child comes home and talks about a certain child, you'll know who they mean.  It's also a great time to find out how you can be of service to the school.  Maybe help with parties, be a storytime parent, or however you can volunteer.  The more you put into your child's learning experiences the more you, and your child, will benefit.

  6. meet the teacher, see the place, find their name on the bulletin board, check out the bathrooms, etc.
