What do they do when you have a filling done?

Question

ive just read this filling question, and i'm getting mine done soon.. does it hurt?

Last time i had one done it was really simple and painfree..but that was when i was young.

Anyone know?

shouldn't hurt at all   Bit of an unpleasant sensation as the  drill  works is all. Then  excavated hole is filled    and smoothed  .   Don't worry  ,

doesnt hurt unless its a big one and its close to the root and anyway if it is then your dentist will most likely do a root canal

i had a filling today that was fine, but the week before i had to have a gold inlay and when she drilled it she realised i needed a root canal and that was agony. fillings are not that painful jus uncomfortable
