  1. We have vegemite & timtams (though i believe they're called arnott's orginals over there)

Lamb is a heck of a lot easier to buy here.

Most shops aren't open til late at night every night and yes, most stores even close on sundays!

  2. A decent education.

  3. Australia gets different cars than we do and some are very nice!

  4. Ahaha, in terms of what?

    Dreamworld!

    The Gold Coast

We have a lot less people

and less busy streets and roads and cities

I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean!

  5. Actually Alot Of Things, Like Koalas, Kangaroos, Dingos, ... Bikinis On Christmas, Steve Irwin, The Wiggles, Thats All I Can Think OF Now And We Have A Bunch Of Things I CAnt Think of anything im too high

  6. We have the best football game in the world, Australian Rules. It is fast, tough and exciting to watch. Your game of Gridiron or whatever you call it is as boring as the European game called Soccer. (You do have some Aussie rules teams in the US and Canada, but not yet up to our standard.)

Also we have a lot of Americans here trying to wreck our industry, especially our Telco Telstra, do you mind taking them back?????

  7. vegemite...and don't be upset, it's nasty.

  8. We have Universal Health Care, everyone is entitled to and receives quality medical and hospital care.

In the USA, you have a user pays (big bucks) system.

We do not tip. If we receive very exceptional service we may do but it's not expected.

Well, you know what tipping is like in the USA.

We drive right hand drive cars.

Our banknotes are a different colour and different size for each for the different denominations and they are made of a durable polymer.

The current population of the United States is 300,000,000 people.

The current population of Australia is just over 20,000,000 people.

Yet both countries are almost the same size as each other.

We have a different system for electing our leader it doesn't drag on for months and months and months.

We have compulsory voting, USA doesn't.

We don't announce to everyone which political party we support. It's our own business and usually the subject is not up for discussion.

We have extremely strict gun laws in Australia.

I won't comment on gun laws or lack of in the USA.

To us ANZAC Day is a solemn day when we honour and remember those lost to war. We take it far more seriously than the USA take Memorial Day.

Our two countries spell a number of words differently to each other:

    defence, jewellery etc

all the "our" words you do "or": neighbour, harbour etc

all the "ise" words, you do "ize": realise.

We, in Australia, use the metric system.

The USA is still in the dark ages using feet and inches and pounds and ounces etc.

In the USA you have George W Bush, but that's ok you can keep him. We really don't want him.

  9. The other Elizabeth sums it up pretty well.  A couple of things I would add are:- Australia does not have the poverty America has (or so much extreme wealth),  we don't spend as much of our budget on the military, Australians aren't as religious as Americans and our religious groups have little say in our domestic or foreign policies, Australia's economy is going great - America's is in deep ****, Australians eat more fresh food while America has more junk food,  the average Australian knows a lot more about the rest of the world than the average American knows about the rest of the world,  Australians are big overseas travellers - America has the lowest passport ownership in the western world.

All that being said, Aussies and Americans usually hit it off very well.  As well as all the subtle differences there is a lot of common ground.

  10. You have guns that we don't have

  11. um do you mean like are we really behind with the technology?

    i dont think we are..

australians are more fun and laid back is what i think :) :)
