What do they mean by "show one of the many proofs of the pythagorean therom?"?

yeah, i spelled it wrong. i know asquared+bsquared=csquared but how do you make a problem for that? any old number wont work

  1. The question is asking for much more that a numerical example.  You should go to the library and find a PROOF of Pythagorean Theorem.


  2. A proof is to show that it is true for any right triangle.

    There are hundreds in existence (proofs that is, there

    infinitely many triangles).

    I always found it interesting that President James Garfield

    was one of those to find a proof on his own.

    HINT: there are web pages which list quite a few

    different proofs.  Just do a web search on

    pythagorean theorem proof

    .
