  1. iso is short for isolated.  An iso defense of offense, often in football, means that 2 men will isolate 1 hole for the running back to run thru.

    24 iso is a very common football play at the lower levels , it means the 2-back, or halfback will run thru the 4 hole and that the linemen will double block one guy at the 4 hole to open it up for the halfback.
