  1. I've always said it's never too hot to play golf.  I can play in 100 degree heat, no problem.  But it CAN get too cold to play.  If it's in the mid to high 40s, no problem.  Once it gets below that, especially in the 30s or lower, no way.  I tried it once.  I got through 4 or 5 holes and called it quits.

  2. I played High School golf in WI and we started practice before spring break each year. It was not uncommon for us to start practice with the water froze and snow falling. IT does make you concentrate a lot harder. If you hit a shot thin you feel it for about 3 holes! I would love to see some of the Pros play in more colder weather. They complain way too much if it is cold (like 50!). Weather is part of the game and needs to be overcome by all the players.

  3. For me it has to be at least 40, dry and winds below 15mph.

    Otherwise it ain't much fun.

  4. I actually think it is a great idea.  The complete player should be able to compete until any conditions.  Also, you might see lesser known players achieving upsets.. Just look at horse racing - perhaps a poor example- but some horses run better on wet sloppy tracks.

  5. Its difficult to endure that kind of weather, but if you're hard core committed, it can be done. The most I'd do in freezing weather is hit a bucket of balls.

  6. I've done it, and even colder temps and with snow on the ground. It's fun, but it's certainly a very different game. Best tips: 1)Bring a broom to sweep the greens, 2) Keep a few golf balls in your pockets to help keep them warm (softer), 3) Don't wear golf shoes, wear something that will keep your feet warm and dry.

Give it a try and Have fun!

  7. About the same as people swimming in Lake Superior on the 1st of April.

  8. Thats why they make winter gloves.
