Matthias or Matyas was a strong, worldly king and he led Hungary through a renaissance of its education, culture, and elegance..

GO FOR IT!! It is a little bit of an unusual name, but you wouldn't have trouble with Matyas if he dislikes it later on, because that would just shorten to Matt.

I like it a lot. I don't think that people will think it is too unusual, and it's very handsome! If he grows to dislike his full name, he could always go by Matt.

Compared to a lot of the crazy names on this site, I'd say yours is pretty tame, and it makes sense. It's a strong name, and it shows your heritage. Good choice.
