  1. Depending on the company, most truck drivers in their first year of driving earn between $35-$40,000. Also, since they're paid per mile and more experienced drivers get pay increases depending on how long they've driven, a driver can expect to earn about $5,000 more each year that he's had experience. Of course, it all depends on a) how many miles you drive and b) the company that you work for and its payscale.

  2. This all depends on weather you are getting paid by the mile, the hour, or by the load. I've met truckers who get paid by each of these ways. I'd guess that you would make between 30 000 and 40 000 in your first year depending on your pay method and the amount of time that you drive. However pay does go up rather fast and levels of around 65 000 a year

In regards to what you can expect; a sore back, headaches but otherwise a very easy life. You can also expect to gain alot of weight.

Be warned though many companies don't hire young drivers because of the amount of insurance that the trucking company would have to pay for a teen compared to a thirty year old, I'd start off by driving a cube van or a ten tonne for a few years, because you don't need your airbrakes licence and their easier to handle, get some experiance and then apply for a job as a tractor trailor driver.
