  1. Well first you can apply for the National Do Not Call Registry at: https://www.donotcall.gov

Other than that, if you no longer wish to receive phone calls then asked to be removed from their lists and if they call again then make a note of the company's name, the time they called, how many times they have called, and ask to speak to a supervisor. Reiterate to the supervisor that you have asked to be removed from their calling list and that if the company calls you again you will be filing a complaint (which you can do on the Do Not Call website).

  2. a Solicitor?

    I usually say:

    "No thanks, we're not interested"

"Please take me off your calling list"

"No, I'm sorry no one by that name lives here"

Worst comes to worst your phone company can block those types of calls, or next time ask to speak to a supervisor and hopefully you can have your phone number taken out of their system

  3. Tell this to your telephone service provider and ask them if

they can give you a new telephone number and also make

    you ex directory.

  4. when they phone you put the phone down and go away for 10 minutes letting them talk to themselves, do this every time they will get the message.

  5. First thing is to ask their name, company, title, and phone number.  Remember to write these down!  Then, you instruct them to please take your name and phone number off of their list.  Which they are legally bound to do so if you ask them to.  You next tell them that any further calls will be construed as harrassment as will be handled as such through the proper legal channels.  If that company calls back, then you can file a complaint against them for harrassment (through the FCC in USA).  They usually get the message not to call back once legality gets involved.  Also, if you live in the USA, make sure to put your name on the Federal Do Not Call List.  Here is the link: https://www.donotcall.gov/ .  And don't forget to register your cell numbers too!

    Good Luck!

  6. Hello,

I do not know the phone system where you live but in my case I just put them on call block or screen their calls when I see call display. My phone also will not accept blocked calls.

That seems to do the trick.

    Cheers,

    Michael Kelly

  7. Tell them you are unemployed and can't afford to buy anything, and then go on the "Do Not Call" list.

  8. Put your phone number on the Do Not Call List....you can google  that. Also never list your number in the phone book and never give your number out when asked like in a store. You never give them the correct number. Just make something up.

  9. Tell them (a) you're not interested in whatever it is they have to sell, (b) to take your name and phone number off their list, and (c) that you will report them to the Federal Communications Commission and sue them if they don't stop harassing you.

Another alternative:  If you have phone service through AT&T and you have call screening on your plan, you can block their number.  The problem is you can only block one number, so if they use multiple lines for call-out they can get around that by calling out for another number.
