What do u do when u have a Jack and a five with a +3 count in Blackjack?

for almost every card cotnign system i have seen, there is no index play for that hand at +3 or lower, that index is a very high number, so high that i havnt even taken note of it

the correct play is goign to be to hit.

even if you knew the index number for that play, you would probibly only experiecne a coutn that high ~1:1000+ hands  and then only experience that hand one in ~150, so you may be able to actually use that index play 1:150000+ hands if at all.

just hit it always

Your question can't be answered based on the info you listed. To know what to do, first, what does the dealer have for an up card?

Second, how many decks are you playing with. If it is a single or double deck table, then you definately want to stand. +3 in a single deck signals that there are a lot of 10-value cards left in the show. If you are playing at a 6 or 8 deck table then a +3 count isn't really that big.

So it is tough to answer your question since a lot of factors need to be considered.

you are asking about basic startegy here and how the count affects basic strategy. without counting, a 15 vs. a dealer up card of 7 is always a HIT. Basic startegy DOES change with a plus 3, however, how to play the 15 vs. a 7 has not changed. It's still a hit.

Also, plus 3 or bigger is a good time to take insurance if the dealer is showing an ace!
