  1. punch holes in it, cook in micro wave, add butter, mmmmm good  or cut in wedges score with fork brush with butter, olive oil and garlic mixture and roast on grill or in oven.........

  3. Easy sweet potatoes, baked with honey and butter.

    2/3 cup honey

    1/2 cup butter

    1 teaspoon salt

    8 sweet potatoes

    Combine honey, butter and salt. In a greased baking dish, layer the sweet potato slices and honey-butter mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. Baste frequently.

    Serves 6.

  6. I make sweet potatoe fries.  Peel them, slice them up as fries, put in a bowl, 1 Tbls canola oil,1 teas, chili seasoning, 1 Tbls. pumpkin pie spice. Mix all together and put of a foil lined baking sheet and cook at 400* for 30-35 min.  They are really good!!

  7. I like to add chunks of them to a slow cooking pork roast

    instead of or with white potatoes -along with lots of onions !

    Also add to stir frys- try with spinach ...

  8. Peel and chop them into large chunks, put them in a roasting pan with a good slosh of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, salt, pepper and Cinnamon (the secret ingredient) then put it in the over at 180C for about an hour

  9. Wash well,then rub oil over them and bake til tender.You can fry them like fries and they can be boiled and mashed.Any way you would cook a plain potato will go with a sweet potato also...

  10. I like them baked, with salt and pepper and butter like a regular baked potato.

    They are also excellent in a kind of "chilli" with black beans, tomatoes and chunks of sweet potato! The spiciness of the chilli powder goes so well with sweet potato and rich tomatoey sauce.

  19. Erm.. well you cook and eat it. My mum mashes sweet potatoe up with normal potatoes to make an orange mash- its healthier and tastes the same as normal mash!

  21. I make pies, mash them with cinamon, put then into stew, bake them and pour sweetend condensed milk over them, slice into fries and toss with olive oil, itallian seasoning and garlic and bake them.

  23. This isnt healthy by any means, but by far my most requested recipe

    Wendy's Sweet Potato Casserole

    ~FILLING~

    1 large can of yams in syrup (Drained)

    1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

    3/4 cup Brown Sugar

    2 Large Fresh Yams

    ~CRUST~

    1 cup Crushed Gingersnap Cookies

    1/2 Stick Butter

    ~TOPPING~

    Small amount reserved crust mixture

    Mini Marshmallows

    Directions

       1. Peel & Boil fresh yams until fork tender, mashing consistancy.

       2. In large Bowl dump hot boiled yams over brown sugar, Add Can of drained Yams and beat in heavy whipping cream at high until fluffy.

       3. To prepare shell slowly fork mix melted butter into crushed gingersnap cookies until mixture will easily press into bottom of a glass pie pan.

       4. Reseve a small amount of crust mixture to sprinkle over top of finished casserole.

       5. Bake pressed crumb mixture in bottom of a glass pie pan at 350 deg. oven for 8 mins.

       6. Cool shell until pie plate is able to be touched with your hand

       7. spread yam mixture over the shell and sprinkle with reserved crust mixture.

       8. This prepared product can be stored overnight in refrigerator until just before serving.

      10. Put in 350 deg. oven until throughly heated.

      11. Remove from oven and top with marshmallows, broil on low until marshmallows puff and brown slightly on top
