  1. I have a hand blender. It's wonderful. I puree all kinds of food for my 8 month old.

NO PEANUTS, HONEY, OR EGG WHITES!

Avocado is a very good food for babies too.

Don't add salt or sugar to anything.

You can also do baby yoghurt.

I puree lots of fruits or veggies and I mix it with rice cereal most of the time.

I just started letting her have zwieback toasts.  and she doesn't choke on the pieces because they disolve quickly, but I sit and watch her because i'm paranoid.

I also let her eat fruit out of my hand so i can controll it. She likes plums, peaches, bananas, watermelon, cantalope.

  2. you could visit http://www.learning-graph.com/recipes.ht... i have put up my personal experiences on weaning here.

  3. Doesn't your Dr. give you a list of things to start doing and what to expect at every visit?

  4. I fed my son the baby food & mashed potatoes... oatmeal.. etc. just make sure that it is mushed up real good... but make sure that you feed your child the same thing for at least 3-4 days in a row.. so that you can make sure if they that they don't develop an allergy to it or not!  b/c you dont want to go & feed yout child bananas, apples, plums, etc. & not know which one it was that caused the allergy!  they have those gerber finger foods that instantly dissolve in their mouth to help teach them feed themselves!!

  5. 7-1 year most of their nutrients are going to come from either breast milk or formula.  Food is more like a filler because there stomaches are the size of their hand.  You should first start out by giving the baby orange or green foods.....the veggies and make sure they aren't allergic.  Sweeter foods should be introduce last because they have more sugar and babies might like the taste of that better.  I started out with a real sweet potatoe and mash it with a small amount of formula.  You can also mash bananas, green beans, corn, or pretty much any simple food.  Oatmeal is slightly thicker then rice cereal and may hold your baby through the night.  Usually 6 months to 9 months a baby is suppost to have 40 ounces a day of formula and 2 to 4 tables spoons of jar food or if you make your own.  I wouldn't start actual food to chew unless the baby has some teeth.  At 6 months the baby is usually into sucking and not chewing.  The later you start your baby on food the less chance of a food allergy.  Cheerios and gram crackers are good foods when a child is teething.  I also bought some banana cookies it's kinda like animal crackers with bananas, it soothed his mouth.

Once you get closer to a year then you can make some pasta, hot dogs, potatoes, cooked carrots, etc.  But cut it to very small pieces so they don't choke on it.  Also over boiling food like pasta, carrots will help your infant chew the food easier.

My son is fed for breakfast: oatmeal with some fruit like applesauce or pears (mashed up) and then a bottle.

Lunch: I treat lunch like dinner so he is going to the bathroom sometime in the evening and not while he's trying to sleep at night.  So he has Turkey dinner mashed with carrots or peas mashed. and then some fruit.

Dinner: He has something lighter like oatmeal or mac and cheese mashed up.  and if he wants more then some fruit.

snack: Bottle  right before he goes to sleep or around 8pm

Different kids like different things try doing what your baby likes.  But also don't force food.  The more variety you try the less likely he will be a picky eater later on in life.

  6. give her some banana at that age, not puree but the fruit itself on small amounts.

    she'll love it

  7. alright well i dont have a baby, but i ahve a baby sister who just turned one. through her first 6 months, it was baby food and that was it. in her 6-12 months we started to give her yo baby yougurt and rice and noodles and occasonally veggie pizza and anything we were eating. now she eats whatever we do! the doctors even say she is one of the healtiest babies they have ever seen! trust me, babies dont like baby food that much so slowly start adding real foods into their diet. oh and animal crackers. they love love love animal crackers

  8. You need to start with cereals then veggie one at a time each new one for about 5 days, THen the fruit, then the meat. This way you will know if they are allergic to anything. Remember that bought baby food does not have all the sugar, chemicals and stuff that adult food has, Unless you want to cook very -pure and from scratcht better to get the baby food in the jars.

  9. veggies, fruits

    baby cereal

  10. When my lil one was 6 months she got baby food mashed potatoes and gravy, rice, small peices of french frieds, easy stuff to mash with her gums. I also had her eating at the table with us at every meal, and she got a bottle for breakfast, between lunch and supper, and just before bed. She is now almost a year and she gets a bottle in the morning and before bed and juice all day. She now eats everything I do right down to peices of steak.

  11. I made fruit and veg purees and then froze them in  ice cubes trays and then bagged them up in the freezer, quick and easy for when you want them. Babies can also have baby porridge, baby cereals, rusks and milk and even baby pasta from most baby shops such as good chemists or mothercare etc. Your baby can eat most things what you cook as long as they are healthy meals and do not contain to much salt. I use to give my baby cereal made up with some milk from his breakfast and then he finished his bottle, then he'd have a little lunch and bottle, a tea and bottle and then a snack like a yoghurt aimed at babies before his night time feed. They can also start to snack on things they can suck on such as organix rice cakes and little biscuits. Have a look down the baby food aisle and get some ideas that you can maybe make yourself at home. Good luck, and remember it takes a child 17 tastes of a food for them to decide if they like it so keep trying! Hope that helps!
