If you have only 2 who are very special friends of yours, then give them each a gift that you know will have special meaning for them. If you have several bridesmaids then it would be best to have someone help you pick out a fairly generic gift so they will all have the same thing and no one will think you preferred one over the other.

I would set a dollar amont for both of there presents, the same price around $150, I dont know about you but I'm not rich. I would get them somthing very similar but some what personalized. Something they would keep and actually make use of.

I bought my bridesmaids a box of gourmet chocolates. Each box had four chocolates that I picked out specific for that girl based on her personal tastes. I also bought each girl a classic handkerchief with there names embroidered on them, a little old fashion, but I fell in love with them.

I bought my Maid Of Honor a VERY BEAUTIFUL necklace. Not to wear during the wedding, but one she can have forever. It has her favorite gem stone (opal) as the center piece and is put on a silver chain, totally stunning. And I got her a Hankie too.

These are your friends.  Get them something they like and can use and will appreciate.  

There are the standard "guy gifts" like flasks, money clips, cuff links - usually engraved.  My husband got his BM & groomsman watches.  

I got my MOH & bridesmaid identical Tiffany necklaces that I presented to them at my bridal shower (which was a month before the wedding) so that they could wear them on the wedding day.  I wanted them to know they already had necklaces so that they didn't have to go out and get something special for the special day.  We could afford to splurge a little more since our wedding party was small.

Get them something they like. I had a friend do a dance before my wedding, and she is really into skulls (she paints and makes raku skull jewelry), so I gave her some skull streamers from Mexico. She absolutely loved them. I also brought her back "Deadly Poison" skull incense from our honeymoon trip.

It really depends on the person - I believe you should give people something they like - not necessarily something you like or want them to have. And definitely not any chitzy wedding-y stuff that is pretty much useless. I would give everyone their own individual gift, not matching stuff.
