if u refer to tv adv. or paper.. KFC rice promotion..

what do u guys think..

for me the rice is not as good as nasi ayam rice..

better go & buy nasi ayam rather then kfc rice combo.

But i hate their promotional strategies.

"Never eat rice ah?"...wtf?

Especially the ones on radio.

This is something good for the country at least for a company like KFC to add rice into their menu, which makes their fast food chain more 'exotic' as some would call it.

In Thailand and some other Asian countries, they've already added rice into their combos/menu a long time ago and Malaysia is the latest country to have this in their menu.

You might want to know that in Thailand, you have rice burgers in McDonalds to compete with the KFC rice set.

But of course, its not easy to please everyone and some sucker will later come up with criticism that its not good and all that.

i dont like the rice at all, the rice not goods enough or may be i doesnt go with KFC fried chicken style.

i think the bear made his/her point. i dont think he/she is being sarcastic. i agree with her/him, indonesia, for example, has already add rice to their KFC menu during my visit there in 1994.

yes, its not easy to please everyone. but this is the way to do business. you have to have some new innovation or things after some time, so that people dont get bored and always looking forward to taste new menu.

but, personally, i think KFC chicken is nice to eat without rice. the chicken taste is already enough and it doesnt need rice to make it better. as most people here said, rice is rice.

i need some sort like a paradigm shift before i can accept this as a new KFC menu. to me KFC menu is just fried chicken[original recipe], coleslaw. mashed potatoes, a bun/biscuit, and soda drink. other than that is not KFC. yeah, maybe i'm quite conservative on KFC. on bubur mcD too.

real nasi ayam is still always the better choice

I always get in a fight with the staff at the counter as they advertise it as 'Steamed rice' which it is not, it is boiled rice and there is a huge difference between boiled and steamed rice not least of all in the taste.

But I might as well be talking to a brick wall because of the replies I get from the staff there.

never tasted it before .. but one thing if a fast food chain suddenly started selling nasi ayam, nasi lemak all that kind of traditional things ... chances are the food taste like c**p. dont waste money on them .. buy from hawker centre better.

Other malaysians might like it. Most people in malaysia must have rice everyday. I havent tried it and i dont think i will. Dont get me wrong, i love rice. Chicken rice, tomato rice, briyani rice.. But not kfc chicken and rice. Nah, not my taste. I like my kfc hot spicy with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. Nothing more nothing less thanks.

Lol!! Azayi, now u made me think of kfc. I must have this sometime tomorrow or something..Arrghhh....

i know it's all about personal preference on the consumer side and it's about diversification & localisation on the corporate side. but really, i think most locals would have a very good point in saying that if we wanted to enjoy chicken rice, we'd just go to a hawker stall.

my reasoning is that fast food is all about mass production. i don't see the rational in them trying to sell something that has a better value in quality, taste and price in a coffee shop and try to mass produce it and charge a premium price to the consumers. and we all know that with mass production, quality is the first to be compromised.

KFC is famous for one thing and one thing only - their chicken. personally, that's the ONLY reason i would go to KFC. from a marketing POV, i think that KFC should stick to improving their strengths rather than build an entirely new one that would most probably tank in less than a year. (i.e. McDonald's Nasi Ayam)

Well, "NASI SUDAH BAKAR" taste better than that. That sucks! But many people say must fast and clean service. But i suggest Nasi Ayam is the best. (But my mother is the Nasi Ayam 鸡饭 EXPERT)
