  1. Okay, here's why this would never happen.  First, LA just lost Turiaf and without Mihm and Odom they have no backup PF/C players with experience and Bynum is coming off a major knee injury and he could be a while getting back into form.

Second, the Mavs already have two max contract players in Kidd and Dirk with Howard making 11mil this year and Terry making close to the same.  Where is Marion going to play?  He asked to be traded from the Suns because he didn't want to play in the shadow of other guys.  So now he's not going to complain...in a contract year...on a team that already has established starters?

Allen to the Lakers is not bad because Kobe could move to SF.  Again, though, they are already paying kobe and Pau max dollars (and have yet to sign Sasha V. and have to worry about Bynum blowing up this year with FA next summer) and Buss seems to be against  the Luxury tax if he can avoid it (see Turiaf signing with GS).  Oh yeah, they would have no one to back up the C/PF position.

As for the Celtics, do you really think they would pay Dampier 11.5 mil for the next 3 years to do exactly what K. Perkins does for a third the price and is 10 years younger?  They could easily get a spare big man or two on the cheap with the vet minimum to fill in.  On top of that, and I like Stackhouse, he is nowhere near the shooter that Allen is.  He has too similar a game to  Pierce; he's a slasher but, unlike pierce,  he needs the ball to be most effective.

All in all, the numbers work, but I don't see how this helps anyone in the long or short run.

  2. i think the lakers need more defensive players than say ray allen, if it was fisher for allen id see but the lakers need better forwards that can defend and shoot the outside shot.

i also think as some people above that its not fair to boston.

    Miami will be fine

  3. I think the Lakers should get rid of Chris Mihm because he only plays at the beginning of the year. The Lakers dont need Ray Allen. But the other trades looks great

  4. What up Star Baller,

i think it's a not make sense trade for the Boston Celtics and the Lakers.

The Lakers do not need another shooter- they need a good perimeter defender.  Also not sure why the Celtics need another big man in Dampier- they have:  Perkins, Garnett, Big Baby Davis, Patrick O'Bryant and Leon Powe- why would they add Dampier and esentially trade Ray Allen for Jerry Stackhouse.

The Lakers would want Marion- and if the Heat were willing to take Mihm and Odom - why wouldn't they trade directly to the Lakers- instead of sending him to the Mavs.

It's a bad trade for L.A. and Boston- decent for the Heat and Mavs.
