  1. born Jamaican lived there for most of my life

, linda b, and spanrish don't have a clue, they are just hungry for points, go and see it for your self create your own opinion.

  2. Island is very nice,People are great but they are very impoverished.

  3. Hey people check out this question where Stingjam & Lisa M are contradicting themselves!!

How Do you feel about Jamaica's attitude towards homosexuality?

So Stngjam, Lisa M & Don't***, why are you slandering spanrish? Someone is finally telling the Truth about what REALLY goes on in Jamaica & you are upset?!

She did say that decades ago it may have been nice. BUT PRESENTLY the crimes are out of control!

Yes there is crime in every country, but for a small island such as Jamaica, the crime rates are HIGH!

We know it hurts you guys that Jamaica is in such a mess, but that's the reality of it!

Why is it that Jamaica has SO MANY ILLEGAL ALIENS? HUH? WHY? The country can't even participate in the US Green Card Lottery System! Why? Because the locals can't deal with the High cost of Living & CRIME!

I've been to Jamaica & there is a small portion of the island for tourists - Negril side & the majority of the island is where most nationals live & it's on the poverty line!

Music videos tell Jamaica's story! What Spanrish said was RIGHT! The music is only about slandering g*y men & crime!

TRUTH hurts Stingjam, Don't*** & Lisa M! THE TRUTH IS HURTING YOU!!!!

    Thumbs UP to you Spanrish!

  4. Spanrish: Some people need to get a life. You are living in an illusion.  Come to Jamaica and stop making people live your life for you.

Years ago i walked into one of the HARSHEST slums in Puerto Rico with a classmate who wanted to buy some weed (just a dime bag). When we came back to our hotel, all the local (hosting) lecturers were FURIOUS!

They were all cursing about how murder and robberies 'down there' happen every week. Perception is a h**l of a thing!Guess what? I am still alive and i DID NOT at any point feel threatened in that 'ghetto'. As a matter of fact, me and the corner 'thugs' were laughing about jamaican artistes music playing from every car that passed. Reggaeton was still in its infancy and we heard numerous soon-to-be reggaeton artistes while chilling right there in the most 'feared' puerto rican ghetto.

You CANNOT know certain truths about life without experiencing it for yourself. Just remember the MILLIONS of tourists visit jamaica every year and less than half of one percent experience the type of crime that you see on caribbean news.

Jamaica is WAY past beaches and coconuts. We are a complicated society. A REAL society, not just some economic appendage or all-inclusive recreational footstool of the USA or anywhere else. We have stock exchanges, RELIGIOUS beliefs, CULTURAL beliefs - none of which are nullified or disregarded by our constitution.

    My advise:

KEEP your advice to YOURSELF until you become qualified to give it.

  7. My whole family is from Jamaica and what I can tell you about Jamaica is that the people are nice and hard working, the island is very religious especially when it comes to Easter and the weather is hot and the beaches are like perfect!!

    =]

  8. Jamaica is the most beautiful and tourist friendly caribbean island it's wonderful white sand beaches and large hotel are intriging

  9. I'm a Jamaican, and I guess I'm technically not supposed to answer,  but I just have to say something:

Spanrish: you can read all the news everywhere all you want - you do not live here or have ever been here. Your having friends that went to UWI doesn't say a thing to me, either. Nobody is saying that crime and poverty isn't a problem here. It's a big problem here, but name ONE country that is free of problems? Name ONE country free of violence? Name ONE country free of poverty? Name ONE place that is perfect? I can, but it's not on Earth! I have been living here all my life.... and I am still alive. I have not witnessed a crime, and I hope I never will. That's all we can do (yes, you included). Use common sense, hope and pray that you don't become a victim of crime. Don't believe for one second you are safe where ever you are....the human mentality is the same all over the globe.

And where did you get your statistics from, anyway? 90% of us are poor ?- Really? Didn't seem that way to me the last time I checked (which was today). You need to check your facts again.

  10. Well.. I know that it'z a beautiful island in the caribbean.. But thatz about it
