  1. bookkeeping is a part of the subject of accountancy

    bokkeeping means recording all the transactions which take place in a business in the books of accounts.

    bookkeeping is a clerical job and people who have elementary knowledge of acounts subject and have been taught the basic principles do the job of recording the transactions.

    bookkeeping is very important part of busnesss as the books of accounts which have been maintained properly help in ascertaining the profit and loss, financial soundness of a business, making future business decisions and also give a sense of confidence to the lenders and investors that the business will be able to repay their investment with good profits.

    Accountancy means drawing conclusions and interpretations after studying the books of accounts.

    it requires great anlytical ability.

    so accountancy is the next stage after bookkeeping.

  4. In the area of accounting we talks about books of original entry (journals).  These are where the bookkeeper records the various transactions. These transactions could be recorded to the ledger however it would end up making the ledger combersome and cluttered.  At months end the bookkeeper takes the totals from the journals and records them to the various ledger accounts.  

    Websters defines Bookkeeper as One who keeps accounts; one who has the charge of keeping the books and accounts in an office.
