  1. Snow pants, good coat (preferably long enough to cover your butt cuz you will be sittin' on it a lot, googles (optional, but nice) or sunglasses, gloves, hat, boots, and a board.  I am almost positive you can rent a head to toe get up in a rental shop- coat, pants, and all.  Also, bring some advil, you're gonna be sore!

  2. Snowboard, snow boots,  warm windproof pants and jacket, gloves, snow.

  3. rent your board & boots.

Go to a board shop and grab yourself some snowboarding pants. they should be having really gnarly sales this time of year. As for a jacket, a hoodie should work fine Don't dress like you're going on an arctic expedition tho, you'll just overheat, You'll also be able to pick up some goggles (though sunglasses work on bright days) for teh cheap. Get some gloves, try to spend like $50+ (before sale discounts) and get something water repellant, the cheaper gloves tend to just soak the water up and make your hands colder. Also stay away from the novelty hats that the tourist skiers wear (the ones with the fake hair, or the weird dreads, or the jester hats, etc). nobody wears those retarded looking things.

Then just relax and go for it, don't be scared of falling, and don't get upset because everyone who's been riding for a while makes it look easy. it'll take you a good 2 or 3 days on the hill before you'll be able to make it down the runs without too many problems. yah you're gonna fall alot, but it's the best stuff in the world!

  4. Board & boots - rent them.

Clothing - wear non-cotton comfy pants and long sleeved shirt.  Rent or borrow snow pants.  If you have waterproof pants wear those and layer something warm under them.  A good jacket and gloves are necessary too.  You'll also want goggles and a warm hat.

Take a lesson and know it'll take a while to get used to moving on snow and be able to control your board.  Don't be afraid of falling and stay positive!  It's a blast, have fun.
