What do u say if you want to take a person from a group at a party aside to talk privately for a moment?

suppose u're at a party and u want to talk privately for a moment to someone who's standing in a group wd other people. wat do u say to take that person away for a moment? i came across"can i borrow him/her for a moment" is it correct?

  1. It's fine as long as you keep a polite tone of voice and it might be easier to say it when there is a not a lot of talking going on or when it slows down. You may want to say "may" instead of a "can" though.  


  2. Depending on the importance it's handled different.

  4. Say  "Excuse me" to the whole group. Then say "Can I speak to you for a quick second?", to the person you want to talk with. Motioning him or her away from the group.

  5. Yeah, that works, or if you're speaking directly to the person, "Can I see you in the kitchen?"

  6. Excuse me, may I speak to you in private for a moment.

  8. That was not a bad way to get the person in question aside. It's much easier if you wait for a lull in the conversation before doing so. Then just quietly ask them for a moment of their time. Hope I helped.
