  1. You can read a summary of the novel and lots of critique at this site:

    http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/greatex/

It's the best one I've found and it's helped me pass 2 exams so far.

Also I think there's a movie. All classics get screened.

  2. read it with an open mind. I had to read it for school and didnt want to but its acctually a really good book

  3. Find a quiet place where there are no distractions and no one will interrupt you. Open the book. Start reading.

    There are no short cuts.

  4. Find a quiet place where there are no distractions and no one will interrupt you. Open the book. Start reading.

    There are no short cuts.

P.S. keep a note pad and pen handy to record where those answers are.

  5. I've read Great Expectation by Charles Dickens in my 9th grade Honors class. It was a really great book, but I felt that the words that Dickens used was difficult.

When you read the book, try to imagine how the plot goes. If you're stuck on words that are unfamiliar to you, look them up on a dictionary. After finish reading your assigned your chapter(s), I would suggest to look at this website: http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/greatex/

The reasons why you should look at sparknotes is because you can use it as a reference to guide you on things that you are stuck with. Also, if you have homework questions, sparknotes does give out the answers. I'm not saying that you have to rely on sparknotes to give you answers, use it wisely to give you a good understanding of this difficult text.

My personal opinion about this book: I Hate This Book because of the unfamiliar vocabulary. I was coerced to read it and do a final exam on it.

  6. Set a certain number of pages to read every day, and read them before you do anything else.  Stick with it until you get the book finished.

Have a look at these study guides.  They should give you some ideas about your question and help you with your work with Great Expectations.  Also do a search for the novel title here on Yahoo Answers and you will find that many other questions have been asked about it, and those questions and answers should be of help to you.
