  1. I can tell you hardly go to school. If you really want to homeschool, talk to your parents, because it'll be a big step for all 3 (or 2) of you.

  2. It is not your place to talk to your principal.  It is your parents.

  3. You don't.  That's not how it works.  First, you find out the homeschooling laws in your state, and then your parents take care of meeting them.

First, however, what do you think homeschooling is like?  You need to have realistic expectations.  If you think that it's easy...it's not.  You have to be motivated to keep yourself on track and to do your own research, to really learn.  You don't have someone feeding you the information.

I'm not saying you don't fit this description...you might.  I have no idea.  I'm just letting you know it's not an easy ride.  You and your parents will need to set up your coursework and a school schedule, and you'll need to motivate yourself to do that.  Depending on what state you live in, you may need to have an annual evaluation by an outside person, go through testing, and/or submit a portfolio of your work.

Why do you hardly go to school?  Is it because of some sort of medical condition?  Or is it just because you don't think that school is necessary, so you skip?  If you're unable to go for some reason, then homeschooling could be a good option for you.  If you're in the habit of skipping, then it will probably be a rude awakening.

Don't tell your principal...tell your parents, tell them why, and let them take it from there.

  4. You tell them nothing. Depending on where you live, your mum/dad needs to write a letter to your dept of education telling them to remove your name from the school register as you will be educated at home from now on.

PS Homeschool is no cop out: you have to be a million times more motivated and self disciplined and responsible than you ever were at school...but if the reason you hardly go to school is because you find their expectations, standards, curriculum boring or uninspiring then it could be just what you need!
