What do u think about abortions?

personally and wisefully-no matter what ppl will still have em,it is wrong that some abuse it as a birth control but u got 2 think around the other side.What about women who r raped or carry a very sick child and some who cant bare a child.Sure its wrong to take a life but this statement is as complex as any

i think there are certain reasons to have one, rape or danger to mom/baby. thats it, if your just youg, lazy, afraid of losing your body or any other selfish reason, dont have s*x.  it is something you cant take back and will be in your mind for the rest of you life!

I believe a woman has the right to chose.   I don't think that I would ever get one, but I've never been in that situation. I do know it's not my place to tell someone what to do with their body.  

Too many people try to push their beliefs and meddle in other people's business, when they should just be concerned with themselves.

I think it can be the right choice in some situations.

I'm PRO-CHOICE.

Whilst it shouldn't be used as a form of birth-control, and only as a last resort, I do not feel that it is murder. I am in favor of women having the choice.

They shouldn't be made to feel guilty by society.

in the case of rape, two wrongs don't make a 'right'. in the case of incest, we need to take greater responsibility for our daughters and protect them. in the case of abortion as a birth control method: **condoms** and **pills** are birth **control**. ABORTION is the MURDER of child who has already been given life.

i think it's moronic that people would have promiscuous, unprotected s*x and when they get pregnant, kill the fetus...common sense would tell you to avoid **conceiving** a child...not conceive it, carry a few weeks or months and then give a doctor the 'okay' to kill it....

i think that it should be up to the people involved and thats that.  everyone has different views about when life begins.  so i think that it should be a private matter to be discussed with the people who might be in the situation to make that choice, and thats it.

if you dont agree with it, thats your right and you dont have to ever do it.

but if you think its a viable option, then thats your right as well and you should be able to make the decision on your own.

I do not think that I would ever get one, however I do think that it should be the woman's choice as to whether or not she does.  I don't necessarily agree with abortions, but I definitely do not agree with the idea of the government telling us what we can or can not do with our bodies.

The rape thing is very tricky. I mean the baby had nothing to do with the rape, an unfortunate circumstance but the baby is innocent. So do we punish the baby for the father's crimes? If that is the case, many of us would be doing some kind of time.

I believe that in some situations abortions are necessary. For example, what if a 14 yr old was raped? Should she be forced to carry the child. Giving it up for adoption doesn't ensure the child will have a good life. I volunteered in an orphanage in Russia and those poor children were mostly had  parents who were either drug addicts or alcoholics. Its fair to say that most of them had retardation's. They were miserable. Some of those children would of been better off if their mothers had gotten abortions.  people fight so hard to bring these children into the world, but they don't do a thing for them once they get here.

What if you were forced to get one from a parent? I know someone who would be kicked out of the house with her 1 year old son, if she didn't have an abortion when she got pregnant with the 2nd child. Her mother made her have one.

Abrotion in all circumstances is wrong. Even if a women is raped, why should the child be blamed? It is not his/her fault. Same as a sick child, everyone has a right to life.

i personally do not agree with abortion. but at the same time there r situations were is can be the best option rape being the main 1 i am fortunate enough never to be placed in that situation but i can imagine that it can not be easy 4 those that are. i have a 3 yr old son that i fell preg at 15 and i would not change him for the world i think people that use it as a birth control r stupid imature morons that baby never asked to be brought into the world so whats give that person the right to take it away.

I agree with the person who said you should take this topic to a different section.

Personally, I'm mostly with you, but there are many complex moral issues within it and I could only write a very long answer to justify the question, which I don't have the energy for.

Many people in this section are pregnant or have just had babies and abortion is a highly sensitive subject for them, and I just don't think it's an appropriate issue to raise here. Maybe I'm wrong though, I can only speak for myself!

It's a good question to ask though.
