  1. I love the look of a bull terrier. They are so cute.

  2. bull terriers are wonderful dogs but they need strong leadership and firm training when they are young to prevent territorial problems and possesiveness with toys and food and what not. Find a good breeder and be choosy about what puppy to take and I think you will be ok. Congrates on the pregnancy

  3. mm depends on how you treat them and how they learned how to behave, they can be very sweet dogs, it might not be a great idea as a gaurd dog but yeahh..get obedience lessons :)

  4. Bull terriers are small and not the best guard dog. However, if trained properly...any dog will be a great addition to your family. 1.5 to 2 years of age is a good age for your baby when adding a puppy. By this time you'll be able to watch your child and, possibly, care for a puppy. It's alot of a responsibility and I hope you're a stay-at-home mom. Otherwise, BTs are good dogs for young ones. Find a good place for puppy classes so that you can quickly get over the play-biting so your baby can enjoy the benefits of a best friend instead of a terrorist.

  5. get a German Sheppard, they love kids and are good protectors as well =o

  6. great there the best dog ever. i have four and there perfact around kids and just everyone. and they r very good guard dog if someone is trying to break in.

  7. I think bull terriers are wonderful make sure to do the obedience training also make sure to socialize with people and other pets a dog will guard their territory by instinct bullies make wonderful pets

  8. If you are talking about English Bull Terriers, they are great with kids.  My husband had a pure bred Bull Terrier which they rescued from the yard next door after the neighbours had moved out.  They didn't want him because every time they let him off its lead he jumped all over them.  Go figger why any dog would do that!!!!  The couple's parents even ended up dropping off his papers to them.  Yes, the dog was actually a registered pedigree.

Anyway, he was a great dog - good with the kids and a good watch dog.  Not sure how bright he was though, they found him chewing on a set of shark jaws with blood streaming out his mouth.  He was having a lovely time and couldn't understand why his chew toy was taken away.  He wasn't a puppy at the time either.

He loved pig chasing, which was sadly his demise.  A pig got him and before he could be stopped he was off after another one - he died doing what he loved best.

Anyway, if you get one as a puppy, like any breed you need to be sure he is socialised with other dogs and people as much as possible and children are not left alone with him.

    Good luck.
