they played really well in the WRC 07 and should really be in a regular tournament - perhpas team up with SA, NZ and Oz to form a 5 nations with the Pacific Islands also a team...and look at the italy team - two pumas in diusguise also there ...

Mighty ..... a breath of fresh air at the World Cup

It would re-invigorate Southern Hemisphere rugby if they were to join the Tri-Nations.

Question is do they want to ?

Argentina have nearly always been a difficult team to beat at home. Disappointed we don't see more of them with their best team on the field.

Now there is one good team, because of French professionalism.

But two months ago the Argentinian Rugby Union's 23 provinces all voted against professionalism.

You need more than just one good team to be a great rugby nation. You need the support of a progressive home union, and the people at home.

Without support you can not give anything to rugby, only take.

Argentina only wants to take.

When Argentina learns to give, she could become a great rugby nation by growing and supporting many good teams.

Edit: Yeah, I think some of you are missing the point. Why in gods name, would SANZAR want to spend money on developing Argentinian rugby when they won't take the first steps to help themselves?

And I hate to keep repeating myself but here goes, RSA made them look very average at the WC. Do you really think they will ever beat RSA or NZ ? Be a cold day in h**l. Tri-nations rugby does not need to be compromised by an easy beat team, just because they had one good world cup!

Edit: Alan they have never beaten RSA or NZ. How is watching them be spanked going to invigorate the tri-nations?

One of the reasons the tri-nations are the top teams in the world is because we push each other. Argentina is a push over. Without establishing their own pro domestic competitions, they will remain push overs.
