The term gang bangers started out to describe when a gang would grab a female and rape her one after the other, sometimes twice or more. This was known as a gang bang.

How it became a description of people belonging to a gang I do not know.

It is a shame that the term gang  is only used to describe people who engage in bad or violent anti social behavior. There is so much good that a "gang" could do for themselves or their community. But then they would probably be called a fraternity or a sorority.

I do not understand gangs such as Crips, Bloods, etc. I do not understand why they exist and do the things they do. I would appreciate an explanation.
