I have seen so many "Are evolution and global warming real" quesitons. And it makes me happy that people are aware of the problems the world faces today with gloabl warming. Or that they believe in science and say evolution is real. But everytime I go back to the quesitons to see the best answer I see the same thing, religion! Science and religion do not mix, and I believe if u believe in one you can't in the other. If you already know that u think that it's a load of b.s. then why post? What do u think? Should science and religion mix? What about those who post just to find a religous answer?

  1. I am a scientist who believes global warming is real and that life evolved from simpler forms to more complex ones.

And I also believe that most people's religion is perfectly compatible with that.  One can be an "old Earth" creationist who believes a Creator started the process with a Bang and used evolution as a tool.  As opposed to a "young Earth" creationist who thinks the Earth is 6000 years old.

Science will be better served if we bring into science people who are religious, by showing them that science and religion don't have to conflict.

If you insist on people choosing between them (Richard Dawkins), many will choose religion and reject science.  That's very bad, in many ways.

  2. Those people post those questions because they are seeking approval and validation from others.  It gives them a smug sense of satisfaction.  They take the bible on faith, they believe jesus died for their sins on faith, they think that those who don't believe in jesus will go to h**l because their faith tells them to but they have to seek validation in their opinions because this awesome faith has shortsighted them there.  Isn't it moronic?

  3. I totally agree with their right to doubt about everything.

Nevertheless, science is so vast and complex that you have to work on reliable works from others. If they want to disprove global warming, I strongly invite them to get a PhD in meteorological science and do so. All contributions will be welcome. I nevertheless doubt about the contributions from "youtube" propaganda movies which swithc the questions to the political field or act on a partisan basis.

Science should rely on strict methodologies and logic and I see methodology missing all the time in this category.

  4. religion has no place in science.

just like facts have no place in religion.
