  1. I think it all depends on a persons' motivation. If you set yourself up success you could never go wrong. I am in the Army National Guards and on our PT test we have to be able to run 2miles in a given time or more. I think that running helps to clear stress. And a two mile run is definately you-time. So think about the thing that you enjoy.


  2. at the start it will be very tiring and challenging but in the long days ahead it will be very, very good for you and your well being....just be patient and wear good shoes.

  4. I ran a regiment of 2 miles every other day (maybe more like between 2-3 after the first week) for about 3 months over a summer & I lost like 10 pounds. Frankly, as long as you go 2 its better than 0. Eventually 2 miles will seem shorter because the first mile you warm up the muscles and start to get loose, and usually you need about .5-1 mile to cool down from a run. Just take it slow you can be in shape and never go more than 4 miles in a run, just set a nice even pace, crank up the ipod and go someplace like a park where there's stuff to look at while you go.

    My suggestion is to start running easy slow 2 mile runs and then let your body get into a groove, you'll be shocked when you start to feel like you could just keep going and going. If you're into speed a fast 2miles can be a real workout too on like a track or something, run as fast as you can for half the track and then slowly jog for the other half, repeat for as long as you can and you'll build endurance in no time!

I usually plan out the rest of the day or set goals when I go out for my morning runs.  Its the longer runs like 15+miles is I think about survival of the run, speed, form, things going on in my life, sing songs in my head, play word games, etc.  Some days I think I really don't think, i just run....

  11. Well if you can and your comfortable with running just go right ahead it even healthy for you, If I was there I would join you.

  12. It is too difficult for me.  It takes me about 20 minutes.  I have to take a nap afterwords.

  13. I think it'll take 18 minutes and I won't get warmed up by the time it's over.  Two miles is almost a waste of time to me.  By the time you get going, you're done.
